Studio Ember
Founded in 2022 by sisters Melissa and Jessica Russell, Studio Ember is a multi-disciplinary art and design studio based in Dickson, Tennessee. We specialize in creating functional, handmade pieces for your home that have been inspired by the beauty and wonder found in our natural world.

Co-Owner
Jessica graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2017, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography. She also obtained a minor in Ceramic Arts and Motion Media Design in order to further her creative abilities and expand her photographic work to other media. As an interdisciplinary artist, she uses a wide range of techniques to best suit her artistic expression. After working as a Ceramic Arts Studio Manager for over 3 years at SCAD, she felt the drive to pursue her ceramic and photography work full time and is extremely happy to begin this journey with her sister Melissa.

Melissa is a designer, organizer and researcher from Huntsville, AL. Her curiosity has led her to many different places and jobs throughout her life, and she’s thrilled to start this new venture with her sister Jess. She graduated with a BA in Journalism from NYU in 2013, and a Master of Architecture from Yale in 2019.

Studio Assistant
Since joining our team in December 2020, Max has been a bundle of energy who always wants to get involved in anything we are doing. Whether it be stepping on laid out prints, jumping on us as we’re taking a video, or trying to drink from clay water buckets, Max is always happy to be around to lend a helping paw.
